Mississippi State Department of Education (MDE) - Executes all laws relating to the administrative, supervisory, and consultative services to the public schools. MDRS has an Interagency Agreement with MDE and a Memorandum of Understanding with all the local school districts, including Harrison County and Gulfport school districts, to provide a comprehensive program of services that will enable youth with disabilities to transition from school to work.
State Board of Community and Junior Colleges - Coordinates the state system of community and junior colleges by administering state laws and appropriations
Labor Partners
Mississippi Developmental Authority (MDA) - State administrative entity for the Workforce Investment Act of 1998.
Mississippi Employment Security Commission (MESC) - Promotes employment security by increasing opportunities for the placement of workers in jobs and by administering unemployment insurance programs. MESC is the principle operator of the One-Stop Centers in the majority of the local workforce investment areas.
WIN Job Center - The Workforce Investment Network (WIN) in Mississippi is an innovative strategy designed to provide convenient, one-stop employment and training services to employers and job seekers. Combining federal, state and community workforce programs and services into physical locations and electronic sites, WIN In Mississippi creates a system that is both convenient and user-friendly.
State Workforce Development Council - Creates and develops a regionally based system for education and training through the State’s community college system which responds to the needs of MS workforce and employers.
State Workforce Investment Board (SWIB) - Comprised of members appointed by the Governor of the State, SWIB is a cohesive public/private collaboration that promotes, through the One-Stop Delivery System, a competitive, fully employed workforce that adds value to existing employers competing to come to MS and that improves the quality of life for all Mississippians. The State has six local workforce investment areas and each local board has a Memorandum of Understanding with MDRS, a one-stop partner, to provide one-stop services for employers, their employees, those seeking employment, and other interested parties within the local area in order that those individuals may compete successfully and achieve economic security. The MYTI project will specifically involve partnering with The Gulf Coast Workforce Board and Gulf Coast Business Services Cooperation (Gulfport One-Stop Center).
Mental Health Partners
Mississippi Department of Mental Health - Coordinates, develops, improves, plans for, and provides all services for the mentally ill, emotionally disturbed, alcoholic, drug dependent, and mentally retarded individuals of the state.
Mississippi Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities - Develops a consumer and family-centered, comprehensive system, and a coordinated array of services and supports designed to achieve independence, productivity, integration, and inclusion into the community for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Mississippi Families as Allies for Children’s Mental Health, Inc. - A statewide non-profit organization of parents and professionals interested in the well-being of children and adolescents with serious mental health needs.
Other Children Services
Mississippi Department of Human Services - Provides programs and services to needy and disadvantaged individuals and families to help them attain self-sufficiency.
Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, Children’s Division - Assists communities to establish prevention programs and coordinates and works with other state agencies to ensure that Mississippi’s children receive the services needed.
Division of Medicaid – Office of the Governor
Division of Medicaid – Office of the Governor - Provides a statewide system of medical assistance, health care, remedial, and institutional services in accordance with the requirements for federal grants and other assistance.
Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS)
Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services - Provides rehabilitation services authorized by law to eligible individuals with disabilities and provides services to enable individuals with disabilities to function more independently.
