Let’s Go! Helping Families Discover Strengths & Achieve Life Goals

Join us for an interactive session as we explore fundamental information on Discovery and CE.

MG&A is providing a ½ day workshop on Discovery and CE (Customized Employment) – focusing on key and actionable information for self-advocates, parents, and families.

This workshop also includes examples from parents and families: how they’re implementing the tools of Discovery; how they’re supporting their family members with richer school to work experiences and community activities; how they’re customizing employment outcomes that are a great match.

We will review the essential information about Discovery and CE – the principles, strategies and tools needed to embark on this strengths-based journey. Come prepared to see how you can begin to discover, plan, and expand access to a host of possibilities for your loved one.

WHY MG&A?

MG&A has engaged in numerous projects and training activities over the last few years in partnership with parent/family-led organizations, training and mentoring parents and siblings on Discovery and Customized Employment (CE) with great success.

Parents and siblings are stepping in, learning about the strength-based strategies for young people with disabilities that are Discovery and CE, and are conducting these services in innovative ways for their loved ones – both formally and informally.

Discovery facilitates an understanding of the strengths, needs, and interests of the individual. This understanding isn’t based on testing and evaluation, but rather on spending time with the individual and seeking to understand who they are, and when they are at their best.

This information is gathered and used to support planning and outcomes that lead to greater inclusion in the community, education, transition to work services, and employment opportunities.
