WHY PURSUE PERFORMANCE BASED CERTIFICATION?
Over the years, MG&A associates have conducted hundreds of training classes on Customized and Supported Employment. While attending a training class on Discovery, Customized Job Development or Systematic Instruction is a great way to familiarize oneself with the concepts and strategies, we recognized the need to offer a more intense learning approach that would provide the time and support needed to have a performance-level understanding of how to provide quality Customized and Supported Employment services. Our performance based certification is similar to many apprenticeship and mentor training approaches in that it provides the structure for work to be conducted, feedback to be provided and skills to be honed and further developed resulting in better services for individuals with disabilities.
The MG&A performance based certification is a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge and ability to offer quality Customized and Supported Employment services and to develop a mentor relationship with a Customized and Supported Employment expert!

ACRE Certificate of Achievement
WHAT IS IT?
Marc Gold & Associates is a member of the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE). ACRE does not offer certification programs—only certificates of achievement. MG&A offers two options for ACRE certificates of achievement:
1) A “National Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services Basic Level with Emphasis in Customized Employment” will be awarded by attending a total of 6 days of training which MUST include a three day (or six day for video training) Gateway Training in Discovery, and a three day (or six day for video training) Gateway Training in Job Development.
2) A “National Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services Basic Level” will be awarded by attending a total of 9 days of training which MUST include a three day (or six day for video training) Gateway Training in Discovery, a three day (or six day for video training) Gateway Training in Job Development, and a three day (or six day for video training) Gateway Training in Systematic Instruction.
HOW LONG IS IT VALID?
ACRE Certificates of Achievement are a lifetime certificate and never need to be renewed.
PRICING?
The ACRE Certificate of Achievement is included in the cost of the training.
MG&A Certification
WHAT IS IT?
MG&A performance-based certification process is an additional investment of time and money. After attending any of the Gateway training courses, a person has the option of moving forward with performance-based certification in that area. For example, a person pursuing Discovery performance-based certification must work with a learning partner who has a significant intellectual disability or a developmental disability. MG&A will assign a mentor to guide the person through the actual Discovery process learned in the Gateway training. The approximate time to complete this process is 20 weeks. Just as in the Discovery performance-based certification process, MG&A will assign a mentor to guide the person through the Customized Job Development and Systematic Instruction processes with a learning partner. This is also a 20-week process. One can pursue one or all performance-based certifications.
HOW LONG IS IT VALID?
MG&A Certification is valid for three years. If a person wishes to pursue re-certification, the new certificate will be valid for an additional three years. It is not required for a person who wishes to re-certify in any of the performance-based certification areas to attend another Gateway training.
PRICING?
Generally, the Discovery and Job Development certification are each $850, though MG&A reserves the right to adjust pricing as necessary.
If a person wishes to pursue re-certification in any or all of the three areas, Discovery, Job Development and Systematic Instruction, we require a re-certification fee of $150.00 per area.
